Early Voting dates, hours, and locations are posted on our website and have consistently been posted on our Facebook page almost everyday. In addition, the county commission provided the funds and we mailed each Alachua County household an 8-page newspaper-size comprehensive Preparedness Guide with all early voting dates, hours and locations included, we also mailed an early voting specific glossy flyer with photos of each early voting sites, addresses, dates, and hours of early voting with Secure Ballot Intake (drop box) information. In addition, we advertised in the Gainesville Sun and other local newspapers early voting dates, hours and locations and we mailed a comprehensive sample ballot to Alachua County voters which included early voting dates, hours and locations.
Early voting is available this Saturday, November 5 at all seven early voting locations from 9am to 6pm. On Sunday, November 6, early voting will only be available at the Supervisor of Elections Office downtown.
I acknowledge your concerns. Voters in Alachua County have expressed appreciation for our consistent dates and hours of early voting over the years and that they can count on them being the same from year to year for countywide elections. A few years ago we changed the hours and it confused voters because they were so use to the hours we always had in place. We have to consider what is best for all voters. Nevertheless, we will take this into consideration for the 2024 election cycle. Thank you for your input.
