Then there are those who build housing without having to meet codes. Like this one downtown on the west side of the creek next to Radiant Credit Union’s fence (SE 2nd Place).
Hey, it is certainly “affordable.” No inspections, no code compliance, and they do not have to pay property taxes.

Subject: Housing supply dropping 3 reasons listed, largest is interest rates; but ‘new local regulations’ making it tougher for deals to pencil ✏️ is one of the 3.  Cost is the final one and local govt a BIG part of that one; share of rent dollar (generally lowest third of economic strata behind homeowners ie property taxes very regressive) has risen from 8% to 12% in last decade).  When local government adds regulation, no matter how well intended, it drives up cost of housing and the law of unintended consequences often kicks in and more harm than good occurs
