The Martin County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a partially clothed man crashed his car into the lobby of the county jail.

Hello,

I am a lifelong Gainesville resident and currently reside in District 4. I am writing to request that the commissioners give citizens another opportunity to vote on the single member districts issue so that voters are able to make their decisions free of disinformation.

This is an issue many voters in our region felt duped by, including many of my friends and family, and I was so glad to hear that the possibility of a re-vote was raised by citizens. Please put this issue back on the ballot!

Good evening Mary,

Vidya Cassidy shared your contact information with me so I wanted to reach
out to you regarding the Goethe State Forest. My wife and I live very close
to the Black Prong trailhead and love having such a beautiful place nearby.
We generally ride bikes there, at both the Black Prong and Tidewater
trailheads. There's an annual event called "The Taste of Goethe" that
introduced us to some of the trails at the Tidewater trailhead. Please let
me know if you need any additional information from us. We are Levy County
residents.

Back on August 10, 2017, I processed an EAF (Requisition # FY17-06366) to hire Mr. Dan Whitcraft as Assistant Director of Facilities and offered him a starting salary of 10% above base according to County policy.
The EAF request processed was delayed by Mr. Harriot for a considerable time.

In 2019, Gina Peeples processed an agenda item requesting the commission to approved of a Construction Management “At Risk” agreement with AJAX Building Corporation, Inc., to construct the Alachua County Fairgrounds, Equestrian Center and adjacent extension Service Office and Community Center. 

This project was completed well over two years and if you would please provide a copy of the project audit as required per County policy by June 4, 2024.

Watermelon Pond Conservation Area Expanded with 290-Acre Addition Alachua Conservation Trust (ACT) has facilitated the acquisition of the 290-acre “Goethe Addition” property by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). Chayote Squash is the June Plant of the Month

 

The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce that the June "Plant of the Month" is chayote squash.

Chayote squash is native to Mexico and Central America, though the squash is grown in the United States in Florida, California and Louisiana. Chayote is very high in dietary fiber, folate and magnesium. It is also an excellent source of Vitamin C and a good source of potassium, niacin (B3), and beta-carotene, which the body converts to Vitamin A. All

The Alachua County Historical Commission approved a motion at its May 6, 2024 meeting to provide the attached letter of support for the nomination of the Bethlehem Methodist Episcopal Cemetery, a historic African American cemetery, to the national Register of Historic Places. The Historical Commission included in their motion a recommendation that the Board of County Commissioners also provide a letter of support, and staff has initiated this item as requested.
