Hello all,

There will be a joint County, City of Archer Meeting at 6pm tomorrow evening at the Archer Community Center. I am planning on bringing up the Shiloh Baptist Church Road 147th Avenue. This road is upgraded by the county and it is made of lime rock. Most recently the church members were spinning and almost got stuck going to church. The children in the area walk on this road going to Archer Elementary School. I am asking anyone available to please come and support getting the road upgraded with better material and eliminate the lime rock. As you already know the little road leading to BME Cemetery after you pass the Wilson Robinson Park and Laurell HIll Cemetery is in bad shape. The trees are falling and most are dead and coming up from the roots along side of the road. It is scary just to drive under the limbs. The new neighbor on this road cleaned a lot with some help from the city when limbs fall, but the entire road need the same. She suggested it becoming a scenic road since we are planning on bringing in tourist one day. It would enhance the area as well as bring attention to the BMEC. I am planning to ask the County for help since we cannot get the City of Archer to make this road better. It is a city street. Just maybe the county and the city can work together on this road. I believe we should ask for what is needed and want.
BMECRO would like for our Partners and supporters to join us on April 27th, 10:30am at BME Cemetery to witness the installation of White Crosses at the heads of unmarked graves where Notable African Americans are buried. Many were enslaved.
We ordered 70 Crosses so far.
