The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Environmental Horticulture programs
for April and May 2024. Dr. Cynthia Nazario-Leary, an environmental horticulture agent, and master gardener volunteers offers these programs.
Making a Difference with Groundcovers
– April 9, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Alachua County Ag Auditorium (22716 W. Newberry Road, Newberry)
This presentation focuses on how to select groundcovers for landscapes that benefit North Florida’s natural environment.
There is no registration fee, but participants must
register
online. It is limited to 100 participants.
2024 Master Gardener Volunteer Plant Sale
– May 4, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Alachua County Agriculture & Equestrian Center (23100 W. Newberry Road, Newberry)
The Master Gardener Volunteer Plant Sale will offer exceptional prices on a variety of herbs, annuals, perennials,
natives, trees, and more. Master gardener volunteers will be on-site to advise on plant selection and care. In addition, there will be plant and gardening presentations and informational booths. Admission and parking are free.
The annual plant sale is a fundraiser for the Alachua County Master Gardener Volunteer Program. The proceeds support
school and community gardens, summer camp scholarships for youth, and other educational workshops for the Alachua County community.
