*Judith Raanan 59 and her 18-year-old daughter Natalie, from Chicago, had traveled to Israel to celebrate the 85th birthday of Judith's mother at Kibbutz Nahal Oz. On Simchat Torah, October 7th, they were kidnapped by Hamas terrorists. After a horrifying two weeks, they were the first to be released from the roughly 240 hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.
