My name is Kim Ponzio and I serve a nonprofit organization, Family Promise of Gainesville, Inc. Our organization has been working tirelessly for over 25 years to help
end childhood homelessness in our area. Service providers are facing the
possibility of losing substantial state and federal funding because the United
Way, who currently serves the Continuum of Care (COC) Lead Agency role, will no
longer act in that capacity as of June 2024. If a lead COC Agency is not identified,
service providers like Family Promise of Gainesville cannot access vital
funding for families with children who are experiencing homelessness. Our
