What's happening: A group of small business owners in Jacksonville, Florida, have teamed up to challenge the city's regulations of food trucks on private property, which effectively ban food trucks from operating in more than 96% of the city.
Headed to court: Three regulations are being challenged -- one that limits the ability of property owners to host food trucks on their land, one limiting the ability of food truck operators to advertise, and one requiring an arbitrary annual permit fee for operations.
The plaintiffs argue that these restrictions not only violate the rights of food truck operators, but also deprive Jacksonville residents of culinary options.
