The Track & Field competitions (several events) will come to an end towards the end of February. Then, the sports (Mondo) floor will be installed in March / April in time to the Grand Opening in May! Substantial Completion is now January 6, 2023. Total Completion will not be until after the Mondo floor is installed. Attached you will find the Alachua County Sports Event Center Construction Progress Report for October 2022. I am also attaching pictures and schedule from the Contractor, Scherer Construction from their October 2022 report. The parking garage as required in the County's agreement with Viking Companies, LLC. has been be erected and painting and electric and mechanical work is progressing. Entering the last quarter of REAL construction! Scherer Construction is doing a very good job attempting to stay on schedule. The County, Contractor, and Viking Companies continue to work together to get the equipment / materials delivered in a timely manner as to not delay the tentatively scheduled events. The gear panel, chillers, generators, and other critical components have been delivered and some are even installed.
