Good morning.  Since you were appointed with more than 28 months remaining in the term, Section 114.04, Fla. Stat. (Filling vacancies), says that your appointed term runs until “the first Tuesday after the first Monday following the next general election,” so… Nov. 15th.  An argument could be made that your term ends upon swearing in of a new commissioner on the 15th, but to be safe for ethics and Sunshine purposes, I recommend that you consider yourself out-of-office at 12:01am on the 16th. I have a memo regarding post office holding restrictions that I am updating and will share with you soon.

Please let me know if you have any other questions,

Sylvia
