If you have not completed your Ethics requirement for 2022, there is still time! The Institute for County Government (ICG) offers both an in-person workshop on November 29th and an online workshop until December 31st at 11:59 pm.
During the 2013 Legislative Session, the Florida Legislature passed legislation which requires that Florida's Constitutional officers (which includes all County Commissioners, Clerks of Court, Property Appraisers, Sheriffs, Supervisors of Elections and Tax Collectors) must complete four hours of ethics training each year. Changes made to the ethics laws during the 2014 legislative session require Florida's elected municipal officers to also take four hours of ethics training each year.
Newly elected Commissioners are NOT required by the Florida Statutes to take ethics this year BUT this is a great opportunity to learn about the ethics requirements at the beginning of this term in office and start earning those Certified County Commissioner (CCC) core credits.
