The Gainesville Sun works in mysterious ways in deciding what not not to print or even report on any given day.  NBA basketball star Kyrie Irving has been in the national news every day, every hour, since he supported an anti-Semitic film and backed celebrity’s leading anti-Semite Kanye West.

The Sun has ignored both despite the University of Florida angle since banners supporting the billionaire music star were placed on the stadium where the Gators had been humiliated by the Georgia Bulldogs, in Jacksonville last Saturday.

Closer to home the Sun has made no mention of the fact that none of the other 11 finalist names for the University of Florida presidency has surfaced, despite a public record request by the Faculty Union more than a week ago.  But none of that absence of information is as surpris persistent failure to report on the University’s rise to number 1 in the U.S. News and World Report rankings for on-line bachelor’s degree programs in 2022.

I am a cum laude bachelor’s degree holder from another on-line University in 2013.  Adult folks like myself certainly appreciate UF’s ability to create the number #1 program in the nation.  (200 words)

Hello,

I haven't received a guest column on your City Commission candidacy, so I'm just checking to make sure you received my previous emails and that you planned on submitting one. Please let me know.

Dear Mr. Crabbe:

I am confused.  I thought you stated categorically that you would not publish anything I wrote, because you didn't want to deal with my potentially defamatory writings and didn't want to take the time necessary to edit them.  You certainly have proven time and again that you would keep to that policy .and have rejected numerous letters I have offered.

Are you saying now that I can have 600 words to write as I please?   If that is the case and you will not edit for what you consider unacceptable material when is the deadline?

Thanks,

Gabe Kaimowitz, candidate for Gainesville City Commission at large Seat A (city) Seat 2 (county)

We offer the opportunity to write columns to all commission candidates, and have the same standards for libel and personal attacks that we would for other guest columns. The deadline was yesterday, but if you submit something by the end of the week I will consider it for publication. And yes, 600 words is the limit.

Thanks,

Nathan Crabbe
