GNV4ALL IS NOW A CERTIFIED NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION

Gainesville for All was recently granted non-profit 501c3 status. The action is the first step in establishing GNV4ALL as an Independent government-approved organization created to advocate for social and economic justice in the Gainesville region.

“We’re extremely pleased,” said James F. Lawrence, GNV4ALL president and executive director. “Our newly established board is busy setting priorities, which include opening a transformative early learning center at Metcalfe Elementary school in the fall of 2021. We’re excited about this first-of-its-kind in the nation project that will rely on strong community support to succeed.”

With its new 501(c)(3) status, GNV4ALL will actively seek financial support through grants and gifts, which will be tax-deductible.

GNV4All Chapter at UF

Our UF GNV4ALL Chapter is up and running! We currently have 33 members and 13 officers!

We have structured our chapter with the four Gainesville For All teams: Criminal Justice, Education, Family Support, and Health and Transportation. Members have selected which team they would like to primarily engage with, and team chairs facilitate team projects in their respective areas. Some projects we are currently working on include developing a Mental Health Burnout Prevention Forum for the Spring Semester, working with UF's Field and Fork to distribute food to homeless populations, and engaging with UF Projects for Peace for Early Learning Center funding.

To keep in touch with Chapter activities you may join our Facebook group "GNV4ALL Chapter at UF" and our Instagram @gnv4allchapter.

Shout out to the UF Covid 19 Student Service Corps (CSSC)

Molly Lofy, a third-year pharmacy student who sits on the panel, told us students got busy raising funds for Rawlings and Metcalfe Elementary Schools after seeing a list of volunteer opportunities furnished by GNV4ALL. Lofy said the committee raised $562 and a box full of product donations with a fun bingo fundraiser. The money will be allocated between sponsoring Rawlings uniforms and purchasing additional products for the Metcalfe pantry.
