Alachua County has been served with the attached petition authorized by section 70.51, Florida Statutes, regarding the Archer Solar special exception application to the Board.  The petition comes from the property owner, Ben Campen and, under the statute, allows a property owner to seek the review and recommendation of a special magistrate for disputes regarding development orders issued by local governments if the land owner believes the government's decision is unreasonable or unfairly burdens the use of the property.  All affected parties will be given an opportunity to participate in the process that has been triggered by this petition.

 

Ultimately, this process will result in a recommendation from a special magistrate which you must act on.  We will keep you updated about the process and your obligations under the statute.  Please let me or Corbin Hanson know if you have any question.
