Dear Commissioners,
Your American Red Cross has been actively preparing and leaning forward for the several possible impacts that a
very erratic Tropical Storm Eta may have in your county and across North Florida. To update you on our activities, we are:

In close contact with leaders in your County’s office of emergency preparedness,
-
Planning for how we can best support to both pre- and post-landfall Tropical Story Eta,
-
Messaging safety and preparedness materials through our networks (see below),
-
Working closely with the Governors’ Office on Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, as well as the Department of Children and Family Services,
-
Contacting our volunteers and local partners for their availability to support in a response effort, in addition to training new volunteers,
-
Reaching out and coordinating with our non-governmental partners to ensure we have a unified plan of support., and
-
Activating our Elected Officials Liaison Network to give you a single point of contact should you have questions about any Red Cross planning, support, or relief activities.
Tropical Storm Eta made landfall in the Florida Keys late on Sunday night. This is the 12th named storm to make landfall
in the U.S. this hurricane season. Eta is the 28th named storm of the record-setting 2020 Atlantic hurricane season with 29 named storms, so far. Let’s hope Eta is the last threat to our region this year.
