The Vegetable Grafting Decision Support Tool is a web-based calculator that allows users to estimate the economic costs and benefits of adopting grafting technology based on their specified vegetable crop farming conditions. It is developed by the Economic Working group of a USDA-SCRI Vegetable Grafting Project. This online educational tool is intended for use by extension agents, crop consultants, growers, and any individual interested in understanding the economic benefits and costs of adopting vegetable grafting technology. Users may conduct partial-budget analysis, sensitivity analysis, and break-even analysis to determine the economic feasibility of using grafted transplants in a specific production scenario. The customization feature allows users to modify the analysis parameters to reflect their specific operations, such as location, crop, scion and rootstock cultivars, and cultivation system. Users with a registered account have the option to save analysis results for later view. Additionally, the tool allows interested users (e.g., researchers and extension agents) to upload their up-to-date vegetable grafting data to an online database that contributes to further development and enhancement of the online tool.
