Hello commissioners I’m writing you all with questions about my 2022 taxes. On my tax bill there is a line item under ad valorem taxes called “county general” that tax costs me $1,616.8. What is the county general tax paying for? On top of that, there are a little less than 280k people in Alachua county paying taxes, what is all our money funding in this county? (And please don’t tell me county road maintenance.) This is a public records request for a breakdown of what our tax dollars go towards. If you can’t fulfill my public records request, please explain in detail how to have my request fulfilled.
