Please resurface 75th Street south of Archer Road and south of Brytan. It is a two lane road built in 1978. There is an especially dangerous 4,500-foot section north of the entrances to Meadows of Kanapaha and Farms of Kanapaha. This road also serves as the only way in to Thousands Oaks and Kanapaha Pines neighborhoods.

This 4,500-foot section is so full of potholes that cars have to weave around holes, and either cross over into oncoming traffic (55 mph) or risk driving off the pavement. There is no shoulder! No bike paths! It is deadly for pedestrians and cyclists!

This road was #26 on the 2008 Paved Roads Priority List! That was 15 years ago. We’ve waited long enough. This is unacceptable.

Constant cold-patching of potholes that open up every time it rains is NOT the solution for a road that needed resurfacing two decades ago, one that is the main access to hundreds of homes!

While the BoCC considers a new bike trail in Micanopy, the 500+ homeowners in 6 subdivisions have NO bike path, no shoulder, no sidewalk, no curbing, nothing.

ALL we ask for is for our county government to do the right thing. To keep the promises made back in 2008! RESURFACE our road.

We're NOT asking for a redesign. IT IS A STRAIGHT SECTION. We're asking for some damn asphalt.. Very simple.

I invite ALL BoCC members to drive on south 75th Street and try to get to Meadows of Kanapaha without swerving around potholes, or running off the pavement, or being sideswiped. Better yet, try riding a bicycle!

The county is being grossly negligent by not addressing this matter.

Please share with your fellow commissioners. I realize this means my comments will become public record. I stand behind my comments.
