Hi,
I’m sorry for the issues you are having. Looking at your location, I don’t believe that you are inside the city limits of Gainesville and we do not have jurisdiction over your area. I’ve cc’d the county commission as they oversee the unincorporated areas of the county.
Cheers,
Adrian

Recently myself as well as other members of our neighborhood have been deeply concerned by some the struggles we are faced with at our bus stop particularly in the early morning with our young children. First I would like to address that at 640 am over ten young student's walk to the bus stop on the corner of 61st and 60th terrace where there is very poor lighting and street lights only on the corners of the road making it visibly hard to see the small children as they walk in or on the side of the road. Sometimes even waiting and playing in the roads before the bus comes. Drivers in our area tend to speed even with the current construction going on making this extremely unsafe. Which leads to the second concern when the construction is done the road leading to Holly heights will be open increasing the amount of cars passing through making our first concern greater. Thirdly and most unfortunately the bullying and physical fights among them has been consistent since the beginning of the school year. Once a student was injured with a bruised eye and another time a student waiting for the bus was knocked to the ground while standing near others when a fight broke out. I can imagine how unmotivating and unsettling that can be for their mind before begining classes for the day. Certainly not putting them at ease and maybe even distracting them from their studies.
> I have contacted our school principal Mr. Cune and although he is very understanding at this time believes that this is an issue out of his reach and can not provide us with additional support.. My next step was the board of education who also were understanding but after talking to several people in different departments also believes that they can not provide additional as it is the parents responsibility to keep our own children safe and also the bus company who can not change the bus route or pick up location to decrease the amount of students together at once for issues of timing and schedule My last attempt was the sheriffs department who's stance was they can occasionally ride out more but fears that their consistent presence would be viewed as harrament and or intimidation. Although I can understand where each answer came I do think that our request is reasonable and obtainable with your support.

> I will be faxing over a written petitioned request signed and supported by the parents children and members of our neighborhood following this email showing that we are in agreement in asking for additional supports that I have requested above at our bus stop. We are open to hear your suggestions as well.
