Dear Chair Mary Alford,

Hi. I’m reaching out to you because I'd love to have my voice heard by the Alachua County Authorities. I'd like to bring your attention to the facts described below.

I'm the homeowner (12124 NW 162nd Dr) of one of the houses at the Savannah Station. My backyard faces County Road 235, and that's been a huge problem lately. My house was on the market for 90 days, and I got only one offer. The problem is not the house; the only reason that the majority of potential buyers gave up was the noise coming from the road. The number of heavy trucks increased substantially during the last two years, and not only the number but also the speed of the trucks increased, making more noise and dangerous for everyone that drives on the road. That's not only me struggling to sell or rent my property but also all the new developments facing the County Road 235. It's unacceptable to pay for something that is not our fault. Taxes that we all pay always increase, but the actual house values are decreasing in this area. Even dropping the prices, potential buyers are looking into other areas because of this problem. We are losing because of the negligence of all the responsibles and authorities for the traffic in the area. I'd like to hear which measures will be taken to ensure our community's health, safety on the road, and financial safety. Houses that face County Road 235 are condemned to depreciate, and people who live there to suffer from health issues. This road must be local, not a detour from Newberry Road, 441, or I75. It must have a speed limit controlled from the beginning of the community to the entrance of 441.

Thank you so much for giving space to our community to be heard.

Cheers,
Fabio
