Dear County Commissioners,
I have wonderful memories of golfing at West End. It is where I first met my community of women golfers. It is where I saw 2 women get a hole-in-one. A highlight for them and me, watching. It is where I saw young dads and grand dads teach their children the game of golf. It is where I saw elderly golfers play because it was shorter and more forgiving, of their age and game. It is where I took lessons through Santa Fe College Community Education. It is where I met pro teachers Scott and Steve. It is where I saw a hawk pluck an unlucky squirrel off the fairway. It is where my eyes instinctively turn when I’m driving past it on Newberry Road.
West End has been so much more to me and others than just a golf course. Please allow the tradition of community and activity to continue by preserving this precious space.
Thank you,
Linda Stanfill
