The Commission's direction upon discussing the changes to the resolution that created the oversight board was to make it effective immediately upon adoption. As a result, the name was officially changed to the Infrastructure Surtax Oversight Board when they unanimously adopted the resolution in September.

During the September 13, 2022, the BOCC voted to adopt revisions to the WSPP Citizens Oversight Board. However, during the discussion and follow-up vote, the BOCC did not change the name of the over sight board. Considering the WSPP surtax is still in affect, and the public monies are being allocated and spent as the WSPP surtax, why would Ms. Peebles now refer to the board as the “Infrastructure Surtax Oversight Board”?
Until the voters approve the infrastructure surtax, it is completely inaccurate and misleading to be conducting public business under a new title. This is another example of staff managing the intent of the BOCC. As you know, the WSPP surtax has not been extended and expanded to include the additional 1/2 cent for infrastructure.
Please stop the fraud.
