Dear BOCC,
I have written before about my concerns with people soliciting for money in our county. These folks often have no concern for their safety or the safety of the drivers. I thought we had a law against standing in the way of traffic but as you can see from these photos a police officer passed by two solicitors.
I am also writing for an update on what you are doing to get control of this safety issue. I drive all over the county and see people sleeping on the sidewalks, loads of trash left behind, we have many intersections in our county that are full of soliciting. It is often the same people day after day.
What are you doing to keep the drivers safe and help the people that are putting themselves and those around them at risk? Soliciting the streets cannot be a job or a way to live.
Thank you for your time.
Miki Castaldo
