Dear Alachua County Board of Commissioners,

I would really appreciate if y’all passed the resolution being considered today.

I understand that this is not a typical request for Central Florida constituents to make. I wish we didn’t have to.

Many of us are individually calling for it. So many Muslim and Palestinian and Jewish Alachua County residents are calling for this. 

This action equals more AC residents feeling supported. Others might feel confused, upset, or mad too, sure. Please consider regardless, what those in collective mourning could use right now.

No, our call for a ceasefire cannot immediately halt the horrors. Simply, it will nourish the pursuit of Justice. And isn’t that what it really means when a group of people come together? To do what is right? And to help each other?
