Yes, FWC's "Ph.D Bear Expert" Clark approved the bear hunt BEFORE
getting the count data.
Perhaps someone could point out it is impossible to use a bear count to
be a factual basis to allow a hunt and kill 300+ bears if the study was
NOT yet available - no scientific data.
His count study title was very misleading - "a two-year study" which was
in fact two - one-year counts in different locations.
If you don't have at least a two-year (preferably three-year) study, you
get no data if the bear population is going down, up or the same -
useless to use as evidence to approve a hunt.
FWC knows this, but continues to push this falsehood that "we have too
many bears in Florida."
