Good Morning,
If you don't mind, please address the following taxpayer concerns today
during your radio system discussion.
1)GRU owns radio system that it wants to lease out.
2)GRU's system currently not capable of supporting all the needs of lessees.
3)GRU wants tax payers to upgrade system so it can satisfy needs of lessees.
4)Tax payers must pay approximately 2 million a year to cover GRU lease
agreement fees owed by lessee (County gov)
5)Proposal being offered requires tax payers to pay a whopping $22 million
(that doesn't include annual lease fees) for a system they can never have
ownership rights to.
Are taxpayers being asked (via referendum) to make a wager in a game where
the rules are 'heads GRU wins, tails the taxpayers lose'?
Thanks
